10 artists interpret one still life.
The participating artists were Kathy Atchison, Hope Brannon, Bobby Carr, Mary Ann Goodhue, Rebecca Grice, Carol Hickman, Manjula Kumar, Angela Sullivan, Tara Sartorius, and Melissa Tubbs. Cookie Knott interviewed the ten artists as they painted their interpretation of the one still life that they were looking at… but what did they really see? You will have to attend the silent auction when they are unveiled on June 21, 2016 at noon! Their finished paintings will be part of a Silent Auction which ends on the evening of the Reception on June 28th, 2016 from 5 – 7pm to find out!

Oriental Day!
Three members of the Confucius Institute at Auburn University at Montgomery played the Guzheng, a 21-string Chinese instrument. Four members of the Montgomery Branch of the Taoist Tai Chi Society demonstrated 17 of the 108 movements and see if there is any interest in starting a Tao Chi class in Wetumpka. Layken Morgan recited the poem, I Think I Shall Never See poem as a way of introducing our main speaker, Donny Tomlin. Tomlin, a landscape designer, horticulturist and owner of Tomlin Landscaping Service since 1977, has been growing Japanese Maples for about 30 years. His hobbies include music, watercolor painting and fishing.

Priscilla Crommelin Ball speaks about her mother's art.
Priscilla Crommelin Ball, the daughter of the late Priscilla Cooper Scott Crommelin: who is the Executive Director of Alabama River Region Ballet School reminisced and shared the way she sees their mother’s art and answered questions. Mrs. Ball will brought her mother’s easel and her palette so the tools of an artist can be examined. During the event Mary Wolfe played patriotic music on her pocket violin. Refreshments Coordinator, Sandra Hill, served drinks and desserts on Tuesday, July 19 at noon. The door prize was two tickets to the Wetumpka Depot’s play, Calendar Girls, Ed and Barbara Montoya greeted guests at the registration table.

September 20 - Seeing Is Believing: Church Altar Floral Arranging by Kathie Buntin and Bennie Kennedy. This Mother-Daughter team from Dothan, Alabama, studied church floral design at The National Cathedral in Washington. They have studied English Floral Design in Charleston and Kathie has studied at Jane Packard in New York.
